No. Krav Maga is a self-defence system first and foremost. Although sparring does help to build confidence, and we do include it in lessons from time to time, it is entirely optional. Sparring is, however, only accessible after completing your Practitioner Level 1 grade.

As a beginner, you will be a Practitioner in the system. We will focus on the foundational aspects of the Krav Maga curriculum, and ensure that you train with someone of relative experience.
However, members who have progressed in the system already always welcome the opportunity to assist those who are just starting out. This will be a compliment to your training, as well as their own. The training environment is inclusive and supportive.
